The Renegades went into the game knowing that a bonus point win against Teachers would be enough for them to be crowned champions for the second year in a row. However, with the captain and vice-captain both away on romantic weekends and several other key players unavailable it was not going to be an easy task. But the prospect of league glory was enough to bring a few players out of the woodwork. Two players brought their dads along to sit on the bench, but rumours that Korean Pool Hall would be making a comeback turned out to be false. The game was scrappy with aggressive rucking from the Teachers pack preventing the Renegades from getting clean ball. Some early pressure from Renegades did not lead to any points and the Teachers went ahead with a penalty kick. A 70m solo run by the Bum from the back of the scrum led the first try. The Renegades dominated possession for large portions of the game and but struggled to convert into points. Second half tries from Cai Williams and Cedric put the league title within reach with 15 mins to go and a charging run from Paul's Dad sealed the deal. Some weak tackling from Renegades allowed Teachers to get a late consolation try. Stand-in captain Keith Mahon said "It's f$&king fantastic, the boys have worked f$&King hard all f$&King season to win the f$&King league." A special mention to Blair Witch Project for bringing along the half time oranges 10 minutes after the game finished.
Earlier in the day, the ladies team lost out to a last minute try from Teachers.
