Two Clothes Lines; One Clean Sheet

With only a couple of bonus points separating the teams before kick-off this game was a must-win for both teams.

The game started out a cagey affair with the Renegades forwards gaining a slight edge over their Police counterparts, but the Renegades were unable to convert this pressure into points.

It was then Police’s turn to have a purple patch in the Renegades 22. The Police opted to run the ball rather than take an easy 3 points, which would turn out to be a decision they would regret as the Renegades defence held firm and ultimately forced the turnover.

The game remained scoreless until the 35th minute as a police player clotheslined Ed the Duck in his (temptingly clotheslinable) face. Off the ensuing penalty, Robinho kicked to the Police 5 meter line and the pack used their one-man advantage to maul over the line allowing Jimmy Bum to score the first points of the game.

Before halftime could arrive, the Renegades took the game to the Police and Ed the Duck managed to score a try of his own perhaps indicating that he doesn’t have too much cranial faculty to damage in the first place.

PK made the conversion to take Renegades in at half time 12-0 up.

The Renegades picked up where they left off with subs Big Matt and Trae the Dog Whisper wreaking havoc on the Police defensive line.

The scrums had to go uncontested, as Police didn’t have a replacement hooker, which was needed after Big Matt made his introductions.

This didn’t stop the Renegades forwards from keeping the pressure on. Even when Mikey ‘The Legend’ Williams saw a yellow for dishing out a clothesline of his own, no respite was available for Police.

Renegades managed to score three more tries through Robinho, Goeffrezi and the homunculus PK who also kicked another conversion making the final score 29-0 to Renegades. This also marked their first clean sheet for many years.
