Renegades beat Mariners in scrappy game

In what was essentially a dead rubber game with neither team able to move up or down in the league table regardless of the result, this turgid display lived down to the lowly expectations.

Renegades seemed somewhat lackadaisical on the pitch, almost going through the motions. Mariners stuck to their task and Renegades never really put them away with the final score of 23-15. A bonus point was achieved through tries from Bumx2, Bennett & and Renegades Legend Mikey Williams. PK missed all the conversions.

There weren't many highlights in this game. Ones that spring to mind are Healy dancing a jig like a disheveled Michael Flatley; Duncs politely asking the referees permission to punch someone("Shall I punch him Sir?"); Dustbin Archiballs elbowing Pretty-Boy Bennett in the face; the revelation that Barry Archiballs ankles are actually surgically enhanced ham hocks.

At best this game will hopefully have blown away some of the cobwebs before the Semi-Final of the Nicol Shield in 2 weeks time.
